Last eve at The Glasshouses in Chelsea, Julia Restoin Roitfeld toasted her first jewelry design endeavor, a collaboration with Didier Dubot, and was joined by her brother Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, Vogue’s Michael Philouze, Brad Korezski, Amy Astley, and more. The collection, called Delicate and Daring, was artfully displayed in a special installation by Huy Bui, which featured geometric sculptures framed with brass and filled with wood. As for the designs? Stackable and fingertip rings, chokers, ear-cuffs, and even a headband were accented with luxe elements like oversized poppy flowers hand-carved out of glass, precious stones, black diamonds and rubies, or elongated prongs in dark patina. Classic, seductive, and feminine are a few words that came to mind. “I met the people at Didier Dubot three years ago doing a celebrity shoot for someone else and they approached me to do a collaboration,” Roitfeld told us at the soirée. “It’s fine jewelry, investments, so I wanted pieces that are modern but timeless. You don’t want to wear it one time and be bored of it. You want something that you can keep and pass on. It’s pieces that are good for any generation, from me to my mom to my grandma. That’s really the idea.” The limited-edition pieces are available at Moda Operandi.
