Talk about a cute collaboration for anyone tearing their hair out over what to buy the woman that has everything: Postcard-inspired clutches from French designer Olympia Le-Tan are the latest example of handcrafted luxury by Tatiana Santo Domingo and Dana Alikhani (a.k.a. Muzungu Sisters).
The five clutches, which are all hand-embroidered with designs of Peru, India, Morocco, Brazil, and Iran (gift ideas plus travel inspiration—we like it) were inspired by Olympia Le-Tan’s signature whimsical book clutches.
“We love the work of Olympia Le-Tan; both of our brands share a similar imaginative and colorful aesthetic, so we felt it was the perfect partnership,” said Alikhani. In line with the Muzungu Sisters’ ethos—its e-boutique is devoted to showcasing ethically sourced luxury fashion and accessories handcrafted by local artisans around the world—10 percent of all sales (each bag retails for $1,400) goes to UNHCR, which provides humanitarian support to refugees.
Muzungu Sisters, which has previously partnered with Missoni and prove eco-fashion can be chic, will open its first New York City pop-up store next week.
