The Daily and Eres Celebrate Summer in Greenwich

by Charles Manning

On Wednesday, The Daily hosted a champagne and shopping party at the Eres store at 372 Greenwich Ave in Greenwich, Connecticut. Guests snacked on delightful mini tea sandwiches and fruit tarts while perusing Eres’ latest collection of swim suits and coverups.

Eres, which was founded by Irène Leroux in Paris in 1968, was bought by Chanel in 1996 and is the premiere French luxury swimwear brand (they also make absolutely fantastic lingerie, by the way). What makes the swimsuits so great — apart from the divine fit, lovely colors, and clean, understated designs — are the exclusive fabrics developed by the house: peau douce, which gives the suit it second skin feel, and an ultralight parachute fabric that dries almost immediately after you exit the water. The suits also last forever thanks to rigorous testing in the Paris design studio’s “destroy lab” where suits are subjected to the harshest conditions — sand, sun, and water — to ensure they won’t wear out in a season or two like the vast majority of swimsuits on the market.

Check out pics from the event below and shop the collection online or in-store in Greenwich.

The Daily is hosting another shopping party with Eres this Saturday, June 15, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Eres boutique at 55 Main Street, Suite 4 in East Hampton. So if you’re in the area, make sure to stop by, say hello, and do a little summer shopping (champagne in-hand, of course).
