Caroline Vreeland on Love, Life, and Friendship

by Sydney Sadick

We immediately knew something was up with Caroline Vreeland when we spotted her at NYFW this season. According to Vreeland, she’s glowing because she fell in love! Naturally, we had to get the story.

You’re glowing!
Because I’m in love! And it’s great. I haven’t fully relocated to Miami but he lives there because his businesses are there so I’m spending a lot of time there. I’m in New York so much, so it’s pretty convenient. I’m working on a bunch of music with a producer in Miami. As soon as fashion month is over, I’m excited to get back and record.

When did you guys meet?
Eleven years ago. I was working with a different producer in Miami. I was staying out there for six months and met him by accident. We just stayed friends over the years. Now we’re suddenly both single and looked at it more seriously. We were friends for so long. They always say that. Be friends with someone first and you’re like, yeah, right—but it seems to be the real deal. I’m really excited about it and how supportive he is.

What else are you working on?
I’m writing a film with a friend and I’m starting a bra line for women who have big boobs! Beautiful ones, of course, because I’ve realized I’ve never loved any of my bras and big girls need good bras too!

By the way, where’s your bestie Shea Marie?
She’s in traffic!

How long have you guys been friends?
Eight years. Before she started her blog and before I was doing anything, we were working at a bar together. I had just moved into my new apartment and saw the door of my next door neighbor opened and saw this cute girl in there, and I was like, huh? Then I had to drop my boxes and run to an orientation at this bar and the cute girl was there, too, and it was her. So we lived and worked in the same place, and the rest is history!
