Beauty Spotlight: Ermenegildo Zegna’s Elements of Man Fragrances

by Charles Manning

Just in time for Father’s Day…

What: A collection of men’s fragrances named after five attributes that every human could use a little more of in their life, regardless of gender:

Strength — burnt musk, tobacco leaves, golden honey, apricot, agarwood, smoke, and pine needles
Passion — olibanum, rum, cognac, saffron, and amber
Integrity — clary sage, pink pepper, ripe pimento berries, amber, and African geranium
Talent — Asian yuzu, Sichuan pepper, bergamot, black tea, patchouli, and cedarwood
Wisdom — Italian mandarin, winter lemon, green verbena, coriander leaves, French lavender, neroli, and musk

(Bloomingdales)

Who: Founded in 1910, Ermenegildo Zegna is best known for their luxurious fabrics and impeccable suits. They launched their first fragrance, Zegna, in 1993.

Why: It’s almost Father’s Day and even though you totally meant to get your dad a gift ages ago, life got in the way and now you’re scrambling to find a present worthy of him. It’s cool. It happens. Pick him up one of these fragrances and then write a little note about how much he inspires you with whatever attribute the scent you choose is named after. Most dads are way more sentimental than they let on and a sweet (slightly sappy) note about your dad’s integrity, wisdom, passion, strength, or talent would probably mean the world to him.

Where: Bloomingdales and Zegna.com

How (much): $220 each
