The Balmain show is always a hot ticket in Paris. Who doesn’t love a show full of barely-there, body-con dresses? Even better when they’re set to a Michael Jackson soundtrack and paraded out by top mods like Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, and Sasha Luss. And yes, Kendall Jenner was also on the catwalk, clad in a black bondage-esque dress that had a sort of lattice pattern over a nude fabric. Her presence also meant that the Kardashian clan was in tow. Kim, Kanye, and Kris were all perched front row. Prior to entering the venue, guests were greeted by a mob scene of photographers and onlookers waiting for their arrival (mainly for Kim’s arrival, it seemed). It was at least three times the amount of paparazzi mayhem you’d see in New York. Mon dieu!
As for the clothes, the lattice pattern ran throughout on sexy dresses for very slim figures. Pants came as billowy bell bottoms occasionally topped off by statement-making oversized vests. There were cut-out jumpsuits that made the models’ mile long legs look even longer, plus midriff-baring blazers. A white leather moto jacket with exaggerated lapels was particularly striking, as were the multi-colored striped pieces like a leather micro-mini and a floor-length gown with a flowing striped skirt and leather multi-colored top. What’s not to love about a Balmain babe? Olivier Rousteing has his girl down pat.
