Mackage x PurseBlog Throw A Haute Handbag Bash

by The Daily Front Row

Members of the Mackage coat-loving cult have a new obsession to fulfill their shopping fix: the label has introduced a collection of handbags. As a special addition to the collection, Mackage founders Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy joined forced with PurseBlog‘s Meaghan Mahoney Dusil to create the Nomad bag, the release of which was celebrated last night. Created with busy New York women in mind, the Nomad’s exterior is made of smooth black leather with a hint of electric blue on the edges. Perfect for going from work to drinks to dancing, the bag has two separate compartments, can be worn in three different ways, and it comes with a cross-body strap. Brilliant!

The mood at the Mackage Soho store was rather clubby, with Brendan Fallis in charge of the tunes, brightly colored (and very tasty) cocktails flowing, and a Bosco Booth snapping photos all night long. But why did the Mackage team tap Mahoney Dusil for the collab? “We’re a big fan of PurseBlog,” Dahan explained. “And we needed somebody that has had a lot of experience in this field and has seen a lot of bags,” Elfassy added. As for the name? “We chose ‘Nomad’ because [this] is the perfect travel companion,” Mahoney Dusil explained in a statement.

The evening’s hosts mingled with shoppers, who included the likes of Theopilus London and Adrienne Bailon. But where was the (unofficial) afterparty? Mahoney Dusil dished: “We’re going to Soho House to have food, and then we’ll go dancing! [Dahan and Elfassy] out dance me by far. I can’t keep up with them!”
