Zac Posen Resort 2016

by Paige Reddinger

Zac Posen‘s collections always leave us fantasizing about the days when dressing up was de rigeuer and being a lady was truly glamorous. Imagine throwing on that ruby satin bustle floor-length skirt and a silk navy button-down and inviting your friends over for an afternoon lunch? For a very select few, that world still exists, but Posen also had simple looks like a white below-the-knee day dress or a pair loose silk pants with a crisp, undone white shirt and navy trench thrown over. But of course, even Posen’s “disheveled and running out the door” look still feels glam.

“Versatility was my main focus for this collection,” Posen said in his collection notes. “With its prints, simplified constructions and sense of ease, it follows my customers along her exploration of her urban lifestyle: from the boardroom to her vacation home to a night at the Opera.” Speaking of those luxurious prints, they was tropical floral-printed charmeuse and floral-printed tulle superimposed with bugle bead embroidery. Accentuating a woman’s shoulders was also a focus, in sculptural shaped evening dresses and a simply ravishing navy silk gown with cut-outs at the shoulders.
