Rebecca Taylor Launches Video Series

by Sydney Sadick

Rebecca Taylor is giving us a glimpse into her inspiration and the origin of her print- and texture-infused brand via a new video series dubbed “Rebecca Taylor Shorts.” The series features four chapters: Rebecca’s Story, About Lace, Mum Knows Best, and Art of the Print with images that capture the designer’s insights to her life, influential moments, and elements of her collection. The first three videos are lensed handheld on an Alexa mini by director Sam Shannon and produced by IDOL NY. Each film also incorporates playful animations created by illustrator Amanda Sandlin. The first film shows Rebecca’s journey, from growing up in a small village in New Zealand to moving to NYC. The three subsequent chapters will introduce Taylor’s relationship to lace (one of her signatures) and why it’s been a part of her DNA since launching her brand. She also offers a look at her mom’s influence on her design aesthetic and love affair with crafting intricate prints that are also at the core of the brand.

“I wanted to create this series to connect with my customer more closely and give her insight to my story and the inception of the brand DNA,” Taylor said in a statement. “With all the social media platforms at our finger tips we can share our brand message directly with our customer in a way that is innovative, creative, and genuine.”

The videos are available on RebeccaTaylor.com as well as her social media channels.
