A.P.C. turns 30 this year and it’s bringing its production stateside with an L.A. manufactured capsule, A.P.C.U.S. The collection includes “American” staples like T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies for men and women in the quintessential sweatshirt color.
Founder Jean Touitou said that he believes this capsule is America’s bread and butter: “If you want to cook French cuisine, better to use French ingredients,” he famously said. When asked why a collection of T-shirts and hoodies, he told GQ, “That’s like asking me why rice and beans. Those things exist anyway. They are part of our life. It just made sense to try and make decent ones humanly priced.” Indeed.
The collection is available worldwide through A.P.C. stores, apc.fr, and select retailers this week.
