We see her donning lady-like dresses and coordinated ensembles in Washington D.C., but pre-White House, First Daughter Ivanka Trump reveals that she had a punk phase in her teens. She penned her “confession” in her mother Ivana Trump‘s new memoir Raising Trump, who we spotted dining at Harry Cipriani over the weekend. “During my punk phase in the nineties, I was really into Nirvana. My wardrobe consisted of ripped corduroy jeans and flannel shirts. One day after school, I dyed my hair blue,” she revealed in the book. She also dished on how she reacted to Kurt Cobain’s death, saying she experienced “twenty-four hours [of] crying inconsolably in my room, alone—major melodrama.” The excerpt was first published by The Cut yesterday, and since, the internet has gone wild, leading websites and Twitter users to continue sharing the excerpt, as well as their reactions, on the web today. Sites including Harper’s Bazaar and The Huffington Post lay out some of the public’s thoughts on Ivanka’s punk days—see for yourself!
