It’s Good To Be Glam

by Eddie Roche

When Mary Alice Stephenson calls…Last week the GLAM4GOOD founder called on friends and colleagues to join her for a dinner at De Maria on Kenmare Street to celebrate its partnership with Dos Gardenia. The swimwear line has come on board with funding to help the growing nonprofit with upcoming initiatives and events. The dinner was hosted by Stephenson, Dos Gardenias’ Dorothy Day and Brighdie Grounds, Leilani Bishop and De Maria chef Camille Becerra, and welcomed Brianna Lance, Daphne Javitch, Jon Rose, Josh Rosen, Ada Kokosar, Giacomo Mazzini, Dee Poku, Jessica Joffe and Nneya Richards, Claudia Mason and Blair Breitenstein.

“I am a huge fan of Dos Gardenias’ sexy, chic swimwear, so to have GLAM4GOOD be the recipient of their incredible philanthropic initiative and learn about the inspiring ways in which they are making a difference too, really blows my mind,” Stephenson said. “It’s trendy now for brands to say they’re empowering women and girls; many brands talk the talk but don’t truly work with nonprofits to ignite change. Dos Gardenias gave us a generous donation free of stipulations to empower our mission in any way we felt was meaningful. This is what philanthropy is about—giving to an organization to help them continue their important work.”
Thanks to Dos Gardenias’ support, GLAM4GOOD recently worked with a group of young women, formerly incarcerated, who have worked hard for a second chance, and helped create wardrobes and a new look for their job hunts and new beginnings. The organization will also be creating a sexual assault awareness campaign for women and girls to launch later this year. All good!
