Instagram Announces In-App Shopping Feature, Luxury Brands to Beta Test (Business of Fashion)
After years of discussions Instagram has finally unveiled an in-app shopping feature, which begins beta testing today. Through the new “Checkout” feature users will be able to tap to shop using a saved credit card on their account. A number of high-profile luxury brands are already on-board in the beta test, including Prada, Dior, Burberry, and NARS.

Prada to Cease Markdowns Going Forward (The Fashion Law)
Sorry sale shoppers — Prada’s CEO, Patrizio Bertelli, has announced that the brand will no longer mark down its goods. “We decided to stop doing markdowns from 2019 onwards,” he said in a conference call. “We believe that this decision is actually going to strengthen the brand’s image and in particular, it’s going to guarantee higher margins for us.” Bertelli did not say what would happen to unsold items.

Pitti Uomo Will Celebrate 30 Years With a Fashion Exhibit (Dazed)
The menswear trade show Pitti Uomo has announced a new retrospective exhibit curated by Olivier Saillard. Romanzo Breve di Moda Maschile [A Short Novel on Men’s Fashion] 1989-2019: Thirty Years of Menswear as Seen by Pitti Uomo will open in Florence on June 10. The show — which will feature work by Raf Simons, Rick Owens, Moschino, and Versace, among others — will run until September 29.

APL Teams Up With Woolmark on Merino Collection
Athletic Propulsion Labs has collaborated with Woolmark on the APL Perfect Merino Wool collection for Spring 2019. The 10-piece collection for men and women ranges in price from $95 to $795, and is available exclusively through APL’s website. “Our APL x Woolmark apparel collaboration represents more than 18 months’ worth of design, research, and development to create an incredible collection with an amazing super-fiber, Merino wool,” says Ryan Goldston, co-founder of APL. “As the brand that pioneered the luxury performance category, we felt that Australian Merino wool would be an amazing foundation for building a unique apparel capsule collection.”
