It was an explosion of color on the runway at Boss this season, as it was on many a runway for Spring. David Hockney’s colorful paintings served as the starting point for the vibrant hues. Jason Wu worked them into easy pleated dresses, long knit dresses, suiting, and sexy but sleek cut-out numbers. But there was some embellishment at the normally conservative and clean Boss. They came in the graphic Matisse-like floral on cargo dresses and jackets or as embroideries on sheer tops and a chic strapless gown. It could also be found on the sandals, which should be accessories gold. The cargo theme extended into vests cut partially at the mid section so that panels hung at the waist. It looked best in a long navy version worn over a matching ribbed dress. The Boss woman is sophisticated and sometimes buttoned-up, but this season she was looking brighter and a little bit more relaxed.
