Swimsuit season is nearly upon us! But don’t fret, darlings—Barry’s Bootcamp has launched a new collection to give you some motivation to whip things into shape. Corey Hartnack, VP of retail, fills us in.
How did you land on the name Supernova?
We were first inspired by the colors in the night sky—specifically the navy blues and iridescent colors. It got me thinking about Supernovas, and how they are mysterious and powerful. That theme felt appropriate for our client. The Supernova collection “reflects,” which is such a great surprise and cool look to wear inside our dark workout studio. The reflective pieces really stand out compared to anything else on the market right now.
How is Supernova an answer to what Barry’s devotees are looking for in workout wear?
Our clients are very vocal about the kind of pieces they like to wear both in and out of the studio. We’ve been hearing recently that people want cooler/street style silhouettes in athletic, sweat-wicking fabrics, so the items serve a dual-function. It’s important that our pieces can carry over from workout to day out and we design clothing that is appropriate for a sweat session and fit street style.
Which pieces do you anticipate being hot sellers?
There are 36 total styles that will debut in two phases, including Barry’s own exclusive line in addition to co-branded pieces. Our unisex hoodies in french terry and fleece are incredible for spring and are an expected top seller. We have a special tee and hoodie coming in the second delivery featuring our “United We Sprint” mantra, a powerful message. We’re excited for it to hit the studios soon!
What was the biggest challenge you faced when creating this collection?
Ensuring the product has as much personality as our Barry’s clients!
