A Marching Band, Fake Snow, And Adam Levine? That's Victoria's Secret

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Perhaps you’ve noticed by now on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and under every rock that a little fashion show for Victoria’s Secret was held last night in New York at the Armory. Once again, the brand spared no expense in putting together a fast-paced production set to air on CBS on December 10th, which will eventually land on the televisions in a whopping 185 countries. Front rowers for the show, now in its 18th year, included Valentino, Ciara, Estelle, Pete Wentz, Nigel Barker, Olivia Palermo, Stephen Dorff, and Adam Levine, who jumped to his feet to cheer when fiancé Behati Prinsloo spread her wings on the runway. (It was just two years ago that Levine was on stage performing his song “Moves Like Jagger” with then-girlfriend and angel Anne V. walking. She wisely sat this one out this year.)

After a hilarious message from an announcer to please refrain from social media during the show (as if!), the Rutgers University marching band took to the stage, with performances by Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift soon to follow. Candice Swanepoel kicked things off wearing the $10 million fantasy bra designed by Mouawad. The evening consisted of 67 looks and six different segments: “British Invasion”, “Shipwrecked”, “Birds of Paradise”, “Parisian Nights”, and “Pink Network”. The “Snow Angels” segment closed the show with Lindsay Ellingson wearing the show’s first-ever sparking Swarovski costume using 3-D printing with millions of crystals. This was also the bit where a slew of front rowers including Derek Blasberg and People StyleWatch editor Susan Kaufman were practically buried in fake snow that fell from the ceiling, while Taylor Swift sang “I Knew You Were Trouble”. All of this was as bonkers and heavenly as it sounds.

Other highlights of the night included a bubbly Spice Girls-like group Neon Jungle singing the catchy tune, “Trouble”.  After the show, the angels, including Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, and Toni Garnn carried on to TAO Downtown to celebrate and perhaps reconnect with that naughty little devil on their shoulders. Being an angel is no joke! View our Gallery for a very thorough look at the show, fron the runway to the front row.
