Bloggers and editors got a head start to Men’s Fashion Week at the Blind Barber this week when British online store ASOS hosted a cocktail party to welcome their menswear design manager, James Lawrence, to the Big Apple. Scout Sixteen’s Justin Livingston, Paper’s Mickey Boardman, NYLON’s J. Errico, Vogue’s Nick Remsen, and GQ’s Liza Corsillo were in attendance to pick up a (beyond!) generous amount of ASOS swag and meet Lawrence. We grabbed him to get his take on New York style and find out what’s always on his NYC to do list.
What differences do you note between New York and London men’s style?
I find New York men are more understated, dress a little sharper and are more tailored than they are in London.
