It was a quiet evening on the Upper East Side, but the fifth floor at Bergdorf Goodman was quite buzzy last night where Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard of Veronica Beard were introducing their inaugural collection at the department store. With a lengthy cocktail hour and personalized Iomi totes by Ryan Humphrey, the fête drew the likes of Chelsea Leyland, Edie Parker founder Brett Heyman, Vogue’s Cynthia Smith, and more. Your Daily chatted with Swanson Beard on the major retail victory…
Being carried in Bergdorfs is a big step! How important is this for your brand?
This is where we have always wanted to be. As a designer, you dream of being at Bergdorf Goodman and for us this is truly where our customer shops.
What’s your first memory in this store?
I came here before I lived in New York and I remember buying my first pair of Manolo Blahnik’s at Bergdorf’s. I was like ‘Oh my god, I think I am going to have to do this once a month!’
For you, what departments are necessary to visit chez Bergdorfs?
I love going to the beauty counter, I love the sunglass area and always the shoes on the second and fifth floor. But the home and kids sections are really my favorite places to be.
