When the temps drop to fffffrrrreezing the only thing that can get the fashion crowd out is a runway show. Throw in a performance from French pop star YELLE and we’re all set. Last night, philanthropists, designers, artists, musicians, and chicsters hit The Ambassadors River View at the United Nations to celebrate the launch of VERA and the SAVE.LOVE.GIVE campaign, with Validas co-founders Tom Pepe and Todd Dunphy, who partnered with Seven Bar Foundation, to empower women through microfinance. The evening was hosted by Fabiola Beracasa, Hannah Bronfman, Jennifer Creel, Jennifer Gilbert, Kelly Rutherford, Julie Macklowe, Susan Shin, Tennessee Thomas and Arden Wohl, with Mary Alice Stephenson as MC. Guests including Vivienne Tam, Asim Abdullah, Selita Ebanks, Stacy Engman, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Cory Kennedy, Fern Mallis, and Stephanie and Jesse Newhouse (to name a few) became micro-philanthropists with VERA: the free app, which repurposes Wireless Waste for philanthropic causes. Designers, brands, and artists kicking in runways looks included Erin Fetherston, Guy Laroche, Zang Toi, Moss Lipow, Agent Provocateur, and artist Mickalene Thomas. The night was topped off by an original performance by actress/designer/artist Tara Subkoff who choreographed and co-composed a mini-opera. And you were all snug inside watching 30 Rock…
