(NEW YORK) Michael Kors has a new exec on board: Cathy Marie Robinson has joined the company as senior vice president of global operations. The exec is new to the fashion realm, but comes to the new role with 24 years of experience with operations and logistics at numerous global corporations. She was most recently the SVP and chief logistics officer at Toys ‘R Us and its global subsidiaries, which includes Babies ‘R Us. And before that, she spent two years in a similar capacity at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. In addition, Robinson has also held positions at Smart & Final and Walmart stores; she got her career start as a United States Army Logistics Officer. A quick recap on the world of Kors: the designer started his line in 1981, debuted an IPO in December 2011, and hit the billion-dollar mark in February of this year. Kors now has stores in all corners of the world, including New York, London, Paris, Munich, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul and more. The designer himself trekked to Shanghai last week to debut his latest flagship with a major celebration that was dubbed “The Michael Kors Jet Set Experience.”
