Karen Walker Collaborates with Artist John Reynolds

by Sydney Sadick

Karen Walker has teamed up with a fellow New Zealander to add elements of art to her new Resort ’16/’17 campaign. The collection, titled ‘Mujer,’ is brought to light in a series of portraits, which pay tribute to the female anti-fascists who joined the fray in the Spanish Civil Water. The designer brought artist John Reynolds on board to interpret poet Federico García Lorca‘s motifs across the faces of Walker’s fighters. On the collection front, think military tones of sandy khaki, sour tobacco, and pure white set against the saturated navy blues, bleached denims and blood-orange of the International Brigade. You’ll also see cotton drill dresses, jackets and trousers, and a focus on cinched-waists with wide belts. You can shop the new range worldwide and on KarenWalker.com.
