Cushnie et Ochs Spring/Summer 2018

Frida Kahlo’s life and art was the driving force behind Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie’s Spring 2018 collection. Never afraid to show some skin with their designs, cut-outs still had a presence, but less so, making room for a softer approach. The dresses were less body-hugging and the hemlines a tad longer, and bight florals had a moment. But sex sells, and the sex was still there: a corseted LBD paired with floral appliquéd thigh-high black boots, a sheer corset  high waisted pants, slinky slip dresses, high slits, and very off the shoulder numbers, like the puffy sleeve yellow toward the end of the show. The duo are leaving just enough to the imagination without abandoning their DNA.
