(NEW YORK) Monsieur Christian Lacroix will be creating a couture collection for Schiaparelli, in honor of the late Italian designer Elsa “Schiap” Schiaparelli’s iconic designs. The 15-piece, one-off collection will be displayed chez Schiaparelli in her original studio in Paris at 21 Place Vendôme. The designs will debut in July and will launch an ongoing series of interpretations of the designer’s archival pieces. In honor of Schiaparelli being one of the first designers to collaborate with some of the art world’s greats like surrealists Salvador Dalí and Alberto Giacometti, various leading names in the world of contemporary art (yet to be announced) will be tapped to create their own interpretations of her work. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see which artist will recreate Schiaparelli’s famous Dalí lobster dress.
