It is always astonishing to learn about all those founders, thought leaders, innovators and other professionals who, instead of blindly following others, choose unconventional paths and create a niche of their own. It is also imperative to put more light on such highly-driven, and high-performing geniuses who ensure to inspire others, especially the gen-next with all that they choose to do in their careers, much like how Wanda Knight has been doing consistently in everything she has ever laid her hands on in her extensive career.

For more than 25 years, Wanda Knight has stood at the forefront of enterprise technology sales, building her reputation as a sharp strategist and high-performing sales leader at a Fortune 20 company. Guided by innovation and a career grounded in results, she has mastered the art of turning challenges into opportunities. Today, she is on a path of reinvention, where she brings her same level of discipline and strategy into an entirely new space, in the digital arena, to excel in niches like fashion, beauty, health and wellness as a digital creator and influencer.

Recalling her journey, Wanda Knight says that her journey didn’t begin in sales. As a finance major, she envisioned herself in the world of banking until a college internship at a Fortune 500 technology company shifted the course of her journey. This led her to build the foundation of a decades-long career in tech. Throughout her career, she has not only achieved accolades as a top salesperson but also has been recognized for her leadership. One of the proudest achievements was being voted by her team as one of the best people leaders, an honour that exuded her belief that true leadership is about supporting others first and focusing on results later. Wanda says that her philosophy in sales and leadership has always centred on strategy, planning, researching and embracing discomfort to think outside the box.

Her passion for travel, evident in her extensive travels to 38 countries around the world, has allowed her to step outside her comfort zone. For her, travel is not just about exploration but also stepping out of comfort zones, expanding perspectives and gaining a deeper understanding of cultures. Her travels also often intersect with her passion for fashion. She has attended Vogue Club and Vogue Business Club events, such as the Forces of Fashion in New York and Vogue World Paris, and was also invited to Halifax Fashion Week. This has allowed her to continue expanding her global footprint in the world of fashion.

Another passion of hers has been Formula 1 racing. The sport was introduced to her by her father when she was all of 15 years old during the Mexico City race. She highlights that her recent attendance at Silverstone and Mexico City felt like a full-circle moment. What captivates her about F1 is the parallel to her own career, which is strategy. She points out, “When you are passing someone at the speeds they are racing at, it takes skill but strategy as well.”

After dedicating over two decades to technology, she is now leveraging her expertise in strategy to build her personal brand in the influencer and digital creator space. Her focus areas are fashion, beauty, health and wellness that stem from her lifelong passions and her vision of staying ahead in growing markets. She has recognised the power of social media as a force in marketing and believes that the influencer market will only keep growing. She favours timeless and innovative fashion brands such as Victoria Beckham, Chanel, eyewear brands like Vehla Sunglass, skincare by Dr. Barbara Strum, and beauty brands like UBeauty and Summer Fridays. In the health and wellness niche, she is an advocate of Arbonne and Cymbiotika for their clean and high-quality products.

Wanda Knight’s mission is now to inspire others to take leaps of faith to show reinvention is always possible.
