Bauble drama alert: Two of the five robbers who made off with watches worth $750,000 in broad daylight at Cartier’s Fifth Avenue flagship have been detained. At 12:35 p.m., five male robbers in masks brazenly walked into the retailer, smashed the glass watch counters with hammers, and made off with 16 watches from the luxury brand. Just 16, you say? This is Cartier, darlings. If you do the math, that makes each watch worth roughly $46,875. This is just the latest in a string of international jewelry thefts, like the $1 million dollars worth of Chopard jewels that were stolen from a hotel in Cannes in May. We don’t condone this behavior, but they sure do have good taste!
