Celebrated Hair Guru Christophe Robin Pops Up in Tribeca

by Ashley Baker

Current weather aside, it is officially spring, and if you’re hankering to usher in the season with an entirely new look, well, head down to Tribeca. Christophe Robin, the celebrated French colorist and master of all things haircare, is popping up at 42 Hudson Street from today through April 23. Robin himself will be on hand to provide, according to a release, “individual hair diagnoses and suggest the best products to try.”  One may also test the line at the styling station. Naturally, we had a few questions:

Christophe, why did you pick New York as the location of your first pop-up?
I used to come to New York a lot for work and it’s a place I’ve always been very fond of—I love the energy here, it’s contagious! And I have to say, it’s just a few short hours from Paris!

What kinds of offerings will be in the boutique?
I wanted to bring the concept of my Parisian boutique in New York. We offer a personalized hair diagnostic and then a complimentary product testing with one of our hair experts. Our products can be a little bit technical or difficult to understand, so I love the idea of being able to test them beforehand in the boutique. Then you can use our styling products to style your hair the way you like on any of our styling stations.

Your brushes are miraculous. Pourquoi?
They are made with the utmost care by French artisans whom have been crafting hairbrushes for over 150 years in Northern France! They have also been created with 100% natural boar bristles, which have a similar structure to our hair and contain the same keratin compound, ensuring no damage to the hair and the most gentle brushing. It’s also great to oxygenate your scalp and make your hair extra healthy.

What are your best-sellers these days?
The detangling hairbrush is definitely on top of the list, along with my cleansing purifying scrub. It’s nice to get a little detox before the spring, and never forget to deeply nourish the lengths!
