Condé Nast Sells Golf to Discovery Inc. (The New York Times)
In August 2018, Condé Nast revealed its intention to sell three of its titles: W, Brides, and Golf Digest. The company wanted to have deals in place by the end of 2018, but almost a year after its initial announcement only one of the titles has been sold. Discovery Inc. bought Golf Digest for an undisclosed sum (although sources say it’s $35 million). Discovery is keeping the entire editorial staff, including EIC Jerry Tarde, and will continue to produce monthly print issues.

However it’s not all bad news: “wallet activism” — where consumers stop supporting brands that aren’t taking climate change seriously — is working. Brands are more likely to change under consumer pressure.

Jonathan Simkhai Presents His Pre-Spring Collection in Sydney
Jonathan Simkhai took part in Australia fashion week for the first time, presenting his Pre-Spring 2020 collection. Knowing that he would be showing in Sydney, Simkhai took inspiration from the city and Bondi Beach. Slip dresses and wide-leg trousers made their way down the runway in shades of coral, cabernet, magenta and afterglow pinks. Simkhai also collaborated with jewelry designer Lisa Corbo on custom pieces for the collection.
