Catherine Deneuve's New York Moment

What brought Catherine Deneuve to NYC last night? The iconic French actress was in town to kick off the 19th annual film fest, “Rendez-Vous with French Cinema”, sponsored by Lacoste, which will show tons of films en français over the next week. Deneuve was the star of On My Way, a new wave film that was screened last night at the Paris Theatre (which is rather fitting, non?). In the movie she played Bettie, a former beauty queen who hit a patch of bad luck and embarked on an impromptu road trip in an attempt to forget her problems. Après the witty film, Deneuve plus a slew of directors, producers, and guests, made a bee-line for Astra, where champagne and wine were flowing and French was the preferred language of choice. And we couldn’t get enough of the Parisian feel of the whole night.
