All hands on deck! Orlando Bloom is in the building– and it’s not a drill. On Tuesday, The Cinema Society with Rémy Martin & Frédérique Constant hosted a screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales at the Crosby Street Hotel in Manhattan. Stars Javier Bardem, Bloom, brunette beauty Kaya Sodelario, and the charming Australian Brenton Thwaites were in attendance.

“I was just lucky to be thrown into a franchise with such an extensive worldwide fan base but also to be thrown into an opportunity to explore with a great cast,” Twaites told us on the red carpet.” Johnny Depp was MIA, but he was still on everybody’s lips. “First day of shooting, it has rained the last 3 or 4 weeks straight, I’m super nervous to meet Johnny the first time and I watch him do a bunch of stunts and slap-stick, so I’m watching and admiring him immensely, “Twaites told us. “Then around lunch time he turned around and I realized it wasn’t Johnny- I learned later on that the whole time I was admiring the wrong guy!”

Bardem told us that his young son and daughter aren’t yet old enough for the PG-13 film. “I think [the film] is quite scary. But also when Jack Sparrow comes into the picture, the laughter begins.” He spoke of his co-star Depp with great admiration, “Every decision [Johnny] made when he was the character was brilliant” Javier said of his co-star. “He’s great, caring, generous. He hasn’t changed.”
The after-party was held at Chefs Club, where guests drank Rémy Martin cocktails named Pirates Potion, Trident of Poseidon, and Salazar’s Spirit, in keeping with the film. On deck for the night were Kiera Chaplin, Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Kathleen Turner, Hill Harper (Homeland), Lorraine Schwartz, Jazmin Grimaldi, and RJ King.
