Last night, the Caron New York Recovery Center raised a record $1.5 million to benefit Caron’s Patient Scholarship Fund at its 23rd annual gala in NYC. More than 650 guests came out for the benefit at Cipriani 42nd street, and their donations will support patient scholarships for adolescent and young adults addicts and their families throughout Caron’s treatment continuum. The event honored Elaine and Ken Langone with the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence and Nile Rodgers with the Caron Artist Award, who gave a special performance along with CHIC. Elizabeth Vargas and Kelly Bensimon were also in attendance. “We are thrilled to honor such special individuals at this year’s Caron New York Gala,” said Todd Whitmer, regional vice president of Caron New York. “Elaine and Ken and Nile are all extremely dedicated to raising awareness about addiction and giving families a second chance at life.”
