Spring is in bloom! It was a veritable garden on Zuhair Murad’s runway to close out couture this season in Paris. There were gowns in all manner of pastels from lavender, peach, and mint to pale pink and canary yellow that were intricately adorned with camellias, roses, sweetbriar, peonies, gentian, and laurel. Nearly every look came cinched at the waist with a gold metal belt of leaves.
From short knee-length cocktail dresses and full dramatic ball gowns to sleek skinny legged pants paired with sexy lace deep-v tops there were plenty of straight forward glam looks for women looking to flaunt their femininity to the fullest. There were plenty of red carpet ready numbers among them for faithful Murad clients like Jennifer Lopez, Lily Collins, and Kristen Stewart. While Lopez might be more inclined to a mostly sheer body-con dress sparsely embroidered with ivory flowers in just the right places, Stewart would likely lean toward one of the few less overtly girly and more sultry black looks that made it’s way onto the runway like a sequined zebra print cap sleeve dress with a deep-v that went straight to the waist line. It was opulent, but this is couture after all.
