Karl Lagerfeld’s Life Celebrated at the Grand Palais in Paris
Yesterday, in Paris, Chanel and Fendi teamed up to pay tribute to the life of Karl Lagerfeld. “Karl For Ever” — directed and staged by Robert Carsen — was presented to 2,500 guests at the Grand Palais. 56 giant portraits of Lagerfeld acted as a backdrop to live performances from actors, dancers, and musicians including Tilda Swinton, Cara Delevingne, and Helen Mirren who read excerpts from some of Lagerfeld’s favorite authors, and Pharrell Williams and pianist Lang Lang who payed musical tributes to the late designer.

Louis Vuitton Tops List of Favorite Luxury Brands in China (Gartner L2)
Gartner L2, a company that tracks brand performance, has come up with a list of the top-10 luxury brands in China. Louis Vuitton was at the top of the list, followed by Bvlgari, Cartier, Gucci, Montblanc, Coach, Tiffany & Co., Piaget, Burberry, and Chow Tai Fook.

Youtube Steps Up Its Beauty Game with Augmented Reality (CNBC)
As if the beauty influencer community on Youtube wasn’t intense enough, the platform has announced that you are now able to virtually test products as you watch videos. AR [augmented reality] Beauty Try-On will let viewers try on lipstick shades, and shop them. MAC Cosmetics is the first company launching a campaign with FameBit, the in-house branded content platform of Youtube’s owner, Google.

Nina Agdal Gets Married… to Her Hair Husband
Nina Agdal played the part of a bride last night for Conair. To celebrate the brand’s new detangling brush — the Knot Dr. — the model “untied the knot” to celebrity hairstylist DJ Quintero. Sara and Erin Foster officiated the mock ceremony, while  Samson the golden doodle acted as brush bearer.

Rebecca Minkoff Hosts the Pantsuit Party in Cannes
Rebecca Minkoff’s The Female Founder Collective teamed up with Berlin Cameron and She’s Next Empowered by Visa at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity to host the inaugural Pantsuit Party. The event presented new research by Perksy, which surveyed 366 American women aged 14-55 and found that 62% believe pantsuits make “an implicit statement about who they are.” Additionally the survey found that the top words associated with pantsuits included “powerful,” “respected,” “leader,” and “iconic.”

On Wednesday, Sixty Hotels kicked off its Summer Book Club series with Sally Rooney’s novel Normal People. The event was hosted by Serena Kerrigan at Sixty LES. Members of the club were treated to drinks and food and went home with gift bags.

On Thursday night, James Christian Jarrott headlined a hillarious group of comedians upstairs at Serafina’s Tribeca location at 95 West Broadway. The evening included delicious snacks from the restaurant and a cash bar with proceeds from the event going to benefit gay charities in New York City.
