More to love! Katie Grand-helmed Love Magazine has added stylist Panos Yiapanis to its masthead as fashion director at large. Yiapanis has often contributed to Love since the Conde title’s 2009 inception, working with shutterbugs like Mario Testino and Mert Alas avec Marcus Piggot, in addition to having his work featured in titles like i-D, W, VMAN, and Vogue Italia. He’s styled for the likes of Rick Owens (apparently a close friend of the stylist’s and longtime collaborator), Givenchy, and Roberto Cavlli, plus ad campaign work for top-tier maisons such as Chanel and Calvin Klein.
Sonya Auvray’s Wetherly Group is partnering with Saturday Group’s RMO, a London-based public relations company that represents brands like Erdem, Giles, and Harvey Nichols. The PR outfit was founded by Olivier Bourgis and Mesh Chibber, who still run the company. RMO’s fashion and luxury clients will merge with Wetherly Group’s roster of jewelry and denim clients like H.Stern, Gilan, and Hudson. “We have been actively looking for the right U.S. partner for RMO, and Wetherly impressed us with their level of service, strategic view of communication and expertise in the jewellry and denim sectors,” said Bourgis and Chibber in a statement on RMO’s website.

The buzz is at full blast regarding Hedi Slimane’s creative choix at Saint Laurent. In his latest move, the designer enlisted Courtney Love to front the brand’s music meets fashion campaign, which will also feature fellow rockers like Marilyn Manson, Kim Gordon, and Ariel Pink. It’s only natural that he would enlist Love as she was the assumed inspiration behind his grunge heavy Fall 2013 collection. She even applauded him post-show by tweeting: “Having gasms at the idea of rich ladies buying what we used to wear, finally someone got the look exact, no beanies.”
After two years as creative director of Thierry Mugler, Nicola Formichetti is bidding adieu to the brand. According to Joel Palix, president of Clarins Fragrance Group and director general of Thierry Mugler, the split is mutual. Mega-stylist Formichetti was first brought on board to succeed designer Rosemary Rodriguez and to revive the ready-to-wear. Formichetti showed his first collection for Fall 2011, for which he enlisted his muse, Lady Gaga, to walk in the show. Palix plans to reveal a new brand strategy shortly; expect a focus on the momentum that Mugler gave the ready-to-wear, along with heavy emphasis on the brand’s blockbuster fragrances.
What’s it like to be a Marie Claire editrix south of the border? Just ask Ariadne Grant, who’s been in the EIC seat for a year at Marie Claire’s Mexico and Latin America edition after scaling her way up the Mexico City mag ladder quite quickly. Her tricks? Hard work galore, for starters, plus a stint getting schooled on the craft in London and a very straight-shooting approach to tackling her job. The Daily chatted up Grant recently in the throes of a boisterous din honoring Oscar de la Renta at a Mexico City resto, Tenampa (the joint was replete with tableside Mariachi bands, and the designer du evening sang along and took shots of tequila). If only every interview could occur under such fun circumstances, non?
