Whether you’re a Project Runway junkie or not, you’ll probably want to check out Season 10 winner Dmitry Sholokhov’s exclusive spate of dresses now available at Lord & Taylor! We chatted up Sholokhov as he debuted the new line at the department store on his architectural inspirations (thank his dad for that) and the thrill of furniture shopping (for free!) on the street…
Luxury accessories designer, Elisabeth Weinstock opened her first store in Los Angeles last night, which is taking up residence on 8159 W. 3rd street in a 1,800-saquare-foot home built in the 1930’s. Weinstock lavish stock on offer in the space? Everything from jewelry boxes and clutch purses to one-of-a-kind furniture, all in done in exotic skins like python and ostrich.
Imagine Macklemore and Ryan Lewis providing the soundtrack to your nuptials. Rollicking good times, right? Nordstrom staged precisely that with the fellow Seattle-grown talents for their Nordstrom Wedding Suite Blog, and the results are pretty infectiously fun. File this under campaigns we wish were home vids from our own lives.

The who’s who of the indie set descended upon the Bowery Hotel on Wednesday night to fête quarterly culture glossy, FRANK151 magazine, and the launch of its 51st installment featuring the likes of artist Curtis Kulig, Jake Burton, Jenne Lombardo, Reformation, and Eddie Huang. The big news of the evening? The collectable pocket-sized reader, which has been gratis since its inception in 1999, will now retail for $10 in a larger book size, and will be available for purchase at its usual boutique lineup, plus at new partner Barnes & Noble. We caught up with founder and publisher Stephen Malbon pre-party to get all the nitty-gritty. Ready to get FRANK’d up?

How to celebrate a year in the U.S. for Canada-cultivated retailer Joe Fresh? A “one of a kind” (their words, and ours, too) bash at their midtown outpost, making fine use of the store’s escalators for (what else?) runway strutting, featuring getups styled by Marie Claire’s Zanna Roberts Rassi. The fashion show started a little after 9 p.m., also included the likes of Steven Rojas, Ari Seth Cohen, Claire Geist, and Peter Davis in the peppily-attired mix, plus a few duo acts, like Claire Geist and Mickey Boardman. Also riding the escalator together: Dani Stahl and Michael Musto, a stroll which was followed by a crack on Musto’s behalf about heading down the aisle as the next stop. (Ha!) On the MC grind for the night: An ebullient Billy Beyond. DJ duties went to Brendan Fallis and Hannah Bronfman. On the beverage front, a set of wall dispensers doled out melon ginger float, grapefruit jalepeno punch, and smoked pineapple margarita. Can we order one of those for the abode, s’il vous plait?.
If this pastel-splashed, infectiously cheery family photo-esque shot from last night’s Joe Fresh first birthday bash doesn’t put you seriously in the mood for the splendors of spring, we regret to inform you that nothing likely well. Mickey Boardman in plenty of pink and neck bling to spare is pure joie, right?
If you’re looking to throw the illest industry party on the block, we have one piece of advice: invite FRANK! The ultra-underground, quarterly glossy hijacked the Bowery Hotel last night to fete their much-buzzed about 51st issue, themed “Leaders”. No doubt, there’s more than one fashion ed nursing a next day hangover…but we digress.
