Prada Presents Its Resort 2020 Collection in New York
Last night Prada presented its new collection at the Piano Factory, the brand’s US headquarters, in New York. The runway was located on the seventh floor where guests — including Elle Fanning, Marc Jacobs, Tyler Mitchell, Naomi Watts, and more — got a view of the city as well as the clothes.
The collection brought out the best in Miuccia Prada’s elegant utilitarian aesthetic. Subtle floral patters and embroidery offset more mature stripes and plaids, bringing out a maturity in the clothes without losing the fun.
Chanel’s President Discusses Virginie Viard’s First Solo Collection (WWD)
“We are both in the continuity of all the work that was done with Karl over more than 30 years,” Chanel president Bruno Pavlovsky said ahead of the Cruise 2020 show. “Virginie is aware that she must write a new chapter for the house, and who better to do it than her, as she is coming from a place of continuity to perhaps add a little something to Karl’s work over these last few years. Karl has left us both a challenge and a real gift… the brand is strong, the house codes are strong. Whether consciously or unconsciously, he perfectly prepared Virginie, the house and the team to take on this new phase.”
