  1. Isabel, could you start by providing a brief overview of the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit? What was the inspiration behind organizing the event?

The summit was an event that brought together beauty professionals and entrepreneurs from all around the world to gain knowledge and insight from industry legends, beauty influencers, business professionals, etc. Day 1 was all things business while Day 2 was focused on building skills. We ended the two days with a stunning celebration at our Gala and got to eat, drink, and dance with all our attendees and speakers.

I wanted to create something that hasn’t been seen in this space. First I wanted to create an event that was inspirational as well as warm and welcoming of all beauty professionals.  Secondly, the goal was to eliminate all the gatekeeping! When I decided to launch my product line, it was challenging trying to get all the information needed for a successful launch. I made quite a few mistakes like missing deadlines, not knowing about regulations, and more. But thankfully, I’ve had a few close clients (now friends) who guided me in the right direction. So I wanted to do the same for others out in this space. We spilled all the tea to help every person there leave feeling motivated and prepared to go out and kill it.

  1. How do you believe the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit will impact the beauty industry?

 I think this first year was such an amazing turn out and truly turned out even better than I imagined. The Dolce Glow & Grow Summit is poised to be a transformative event in the beauty industry. This summit is more than just a gathering; it’s a beacon of inspiration! By bringing together visionaries, innovators, and trailblazers from the beauty industry, I hope to make this summit a space where dreams are not only encouraged but nurtured.

Jamie Kern Lima is one of the smartest, sweetest, and inspiring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I think every single person in that room felt so inspired and touched by her story and the teachings she had on how important it is to feel worthy of all your dreams and aspirations. Everyone’s contributions added immense value by offering attendees not just insights into building successful beauty brands, but also a deeper understanding of the human journey behind the glamour.

These speakers brought a unique blend of experience, passion, and authenticity to the table, which resonated deeply with the audience. By sharing their personal stories of triumphs, setbacks, and lessons learned, they brought a refreshing humanness to the idea of building a successful beauty brand. Instead of just presenting glossy success stories, they opened up about the challenges they faced, the doubts they overcame, and the resilience that propelled them forward. In doing so, they inspired determination among attendees, showing that success is not just about talent or luck, but about perseverance and unwavering belief in oneself.

  1. Day 1 focused on business strategies. Can you elaborate on the topics covered, and how these insights may shape the approaches of aspiring entrepreneurs in the beauty industry?

Day 1 was centered on the concept of giving our attendees all the inspiration, expertise and knowledge to build and grow a successful beauty brand.  From Jaime Kern Limas’ keynote speech to a fire Q&A panel of experts, attendees were able to have all their questions answered. We touched on everything from the steps required in launching your own product line, ways to secure funding, corporate formations, trademarks and patents, expanding your brand globally and so much more.  The goal was to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge so they don’t feel stuck at any point of the process.

  1. Day 2, curated by yourself, transformed into a spray tan bootcamp. What were the key areas covered, and what skills or knowledge did you hope for attendees to gain?

Yes, Day 2 became a bit of a spray tan bootcamp. I decided to spend time teaching the skills to help our attendees elevate their current beauty business.  So we went over some beginner spray tanning techniques as well as more advanced techniques like body contouring. I also brought in specialists to give additional skills that beauty professionals could add to their repertoire of services.  It was a hands on workshop day where we covered everything from skill building to marketing strategies to business mindset. The goal for Day 2 was to help beauty professionals find ways to grow their business either through enhanced services, lead generation or expanding their clientele base.

  1. The beauty industry has its challenges. How did the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit address some of these challenges, and what solutions or perspectives were shared?

I think one of the biggest challenges is the gatekeeping in the industry. There is a lot of competition and everyone who has successfully launched a beauty brand isn’t making the information readily available. The largest brands dominate and it can feel discouraging when you’re trying to launch a brand that you are passionate about. I am grateful to all of our speakers because each of them spoke very openly about their journey and gave out valuable nuggets of expertise.

  1. As the founder of Dolce Glow, you brought a personal touch to the summit. How did your personal insights and experiences influence the content and atmosphere of the event?

I’ve always been passionate about attention to detail and making people feel valued, a philosophy that has earned the trust of my top clients over the years. It was important to me to bring that same ethos to the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit.

I envisioned the summit as more than just an event; it was an opportunity to create a transformative experience where attendees felt empowered, inspired, and truly appreciated. Drawing from my own journey in the beauty industry, I understood the importance of fostering a sense of community and belonging. That’s why I focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere where every attendee felt like they were walking the red carpet, where their presence was not just acknowledged but celebrated.

  1. Your background, growing up in foster care, has inspired you to provide opportunities for others. How do you envision the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit empowering individuals within the beauty industry, especially those facing similar challenges?

Growing up in foster care has shaped my perspective in profound ways and fueled my passion for providing opportunities for others, especially those facing similar challenges. The Dolce Glow & Grow Summit is a reflection of that passion—a platform dedicated to empowering individuals within the beauty industry, regardless of their background or circumstances.

For me, the summit is not just about showcasing success stories or celebrating achievements; it’s about inspiring hope and possibility. I want individuals who have faced adversity, like I did, to see themselves reflected in my journey and to understand that their past does not dictate their future. By sharing my own experiences and struggles, I hope to break down barriers and inspire others to dream bigger, regardless of the obstacles they may face.

  1. Hosting a summit of this magnitude is undoubtedly a learning experience. How has orchestrating the Dolce Glow & Grow Summit impacted your personal and professional growth, and are there specific lessons or moments that stand out to you?

Orchestrating a summit of this magnitude has given me a deeper understanding of the needs within the beauty industry and the impact that events like this can have. Seeing so many women express their gratitude and share their stories of empowerment affirmed the importance of creating spaces where individuals can come together to learn, connect, and grow. It has reinforced my commitment to fostering community and providing opportunities for others to thrive. Knowing that we were able to create such a positive and impactful experience for so many people was incredibly rewarding.

However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. Balancing the desire to share as much valuable content as possible with the constraints of time was perhaps our biggest challenge. We had so much we wanted to offer, and it was difficult to fit everything into the schedule. But every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, and I see this as a learning process. Gathering feedback from attendees will help us to improve and make the next summit even better!

This event has the potential to elevate our brand to new heights and solidify our position as a trusted leader in the beauty industry. We anticipate that the connections made and insights gained from the summit will open doors for exciting collaborations and partnerships. More importantly, we envision that the summit will continue to position Dolce Glow at the forefront of empowerment and inspiration, helping individuals “glow & grow” in the beauty space and beyond.
