Chantal Thomass will no longer design for her eponymous lingerie label. WWD reports that the 71-year-old designer is leaving her post as a result of her contract being up with the brand’s parent company, Groupe Chantelle. Natacha Jacquier-Laforge, who has worked with Thomass for 20 years, will take over as the line’s new creative director.

But that’s not the only change. Jacquier-Laforge and Renaud Cambuzat, Groupe Chantelle’s creative director, are ready to give the Chantal Thomass brand an overhaul. They will be placing a greater emphasis on “lifeware,” will be changing up the brand’s overall aesthetic, and will even debut a new logo in the next few weeks. “The idea is not to completely reinvent the brand but to work towards making it a bit more arty, yet still fashion-focused,” Cambuzat told WWD.

Thomass, who built a cult following with her playful-yet-sexy lingerie, may not be out of the design game altogether, though. In the past, she has collaborated on homewares and even collaborated with Paris’ Crazy Horse burlesque, so it’s possible her vision will find new creative outlets in the years to come. Here’s to hoping!
