Bauble Talk! A Moment with Jewelry Designer Samira Sizdahkhani

by The Daily Front Row

After watching her mom work her magic at her designer boutique in Washington, D.C., Samira Sizdahkhani developed fashion dreams of her own. So in 2008, she launched her jewelry label, Samira 13. We get to know the charming champion of charms!

What’s the brand’s backstory?
I launched Samira 13 Jewelry in 2008 in Los Angeles. Originally an East Coast girl, I began designing jewelry at age 12 in the workrooms of my mom’s Washington, D.C. designer boutique, TABANDEH. I’m inspired by the beauty and mythology of South Sea pearls, and I use Tahitian and Australian pearls in unexpected mixes with varied materials, creating versatile layering pieces that are sophisticated and modern.

Where can we find your jewelry designs?
Barneys New York, L’Eclaireur, and Luisa Via Roma, to name a few.

Do you have a hidden talent?
Hair cutting, coloring, styling.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies.

Who’s the one person you’d love to see model your fall collection?
Karl Lagerfeld.

Who was your childhood hero?
My mom—hard-working, generous, and fabulous!

If you weren’t a designer, you’d be…
Extremely bored!
