Aquascutum Unveils Spring 2017 Campaign Shot by Ash Reynolds

by Paige Reddinger

Aquascutum unveiled its Spring campaign shot by photographer Ash Reynolds, who has worked with the brand for the past three seasons. The campaign was shot in Salon 1851, named for the founding year of the British label that’s known for its trench coats (“Aqua Scutum” means “rain shield” in Latin). The faux salon was designed for the brand’s Spring 2017 presentation during London Fashion Week held at One Belgravia. The Helmut Newton-inspired set was designed by Thomas Bird, whose resume includes Dover Street Market, Dazed & Confused, and British Vogue. The oversized floral arrangements were inspired by Nobuyoshi Araki prints, which also served as creative fuel for the womenswear prints in what is perhaps the tamest nod to Araki’s erotic art.
