None other than Ralph Lauren, who invited Princess Charlene of Monaco to the Museum of Modern Art for a private screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch A Thief last night. The event was held as a warm up for tomorrow’s Princess Grace Awards Gala and both events benefit the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, which was founded by His Serene Highness Prince Rainier of Monaco 30 years ago. The likes of Bruce Weber, Chanel Iman, Linda Fargo, Desiree Gruber, Kyle MacLachlan, Ricky Lauren, Barbara Walters, Gayle King, Andrew Lauren, Julie Macklowe and Coco Rocha were all on hand to enjoy the classic. The race is on! Raf Simons debuted his Resort 2014 collection on a rainy day in Monaco on Saturday. The location was fitting not only, because of Monsieur Dior’s long relationship with Monaco maven, Princess Kelly, but also due to Simons’ own relationship with the country’s current fashion plate, Princess Charlene. What’s more? The collection was also about the speed of life and debuted a series of zig zag patterns and assym hemlines to highlight the theme so appropos of a Principality whose history is steeped in the raceways.
