Looks like i-D magazine’s global expansion plan is moving forward with aplomb: Former stylist Alastair McKimm has been appointed as i-D’s New York fashion director. While this is an inaugural position for the publication, McKimm certainly isn’t a new face at the glossy. He started his styling career at i-D in London after getting a degree in fashion design from Nottingham Art School and has continued to contribute ever since. His styling work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Dazed & Confused while the likes of Helmut Lang, DKNY, Calvin Klein and Jil Sander tap McKimm’s skills for their ad campaigns.

The new issue, which hit stands yesterday, is also the inspiration for a new online series, Visionaries, launching next week.
