Wondering what noodle-slinging restaurantur David Chang’s wardrobe looks like? Of course you are! Life involves a whole lot of Patagonia, and surprisingly not a lot of ramen, for the chef behind the scrumptious Momofuku empire (and high end hautespot Ko., as well as his sweets shop offshoot, Momofuku Milk Bar, where one can procure a slice of famous Crack Pie and the equally addictive corn cookies). Take it away, Dave!
How much ramen do you consume per year?
Actually no that much, believe it or not! Just tastes here and there. Unless I’m in Japan, or visiting a city in America that has a new ramen shop, I really don’t eat it unless I’m at my own restaurants. And even then, I don’t really eat the whole bowl.
How would you describe your personal style?
Crazy.
What’s in your closet?
A lot of T shirts and a lot of Patagonia.
Sounds well suited for the kitchen!
Yeah, I prefer to cook in Patagonia pants. They’re very durable.
Who’s your chicest pal?
Tina Chai, who’s a stylist.
