Wanna know what the masses are looking for online, well here you go! SEMrush, a company that specializes in providing search engine marketing solutions, examined the online search data of consumers to find the most searched colors for dresses, footwear, and jeans, and the results are in. WWD reports that, overall, the most searched apparel item was a “white dress,” followed by black, red, yellow, gold, pink, and purple.
With footwear, “black boots” and “black shoes” were on top, while “black jeans” scored highest in denim. So, in case you were wondering, yeah, black is still kind of a big deal.
SEMrush analyzed data from 8,000 of the most trafficked global e-commerce sites to inform these insights. Their study examined traffic patterns, marketing, ad size, promotions and the emotional triggers of e-commerce marketing efforts.
The company also looked at the most-searched items for brands, and found that Steve Madden was number one for shoes and Tommy Hilfiger scored highest for jackets.
Louis Vuitton was the most searched for belts, which is ironic considering there were really no belts to be seen on the runway at the last LV womenswear show in October. But hey, there’s still time for Nicolas Ghesquiere to get back on the belt bandwagon before the brand’s fall 2018 show in Paris this March. You know, if that sort of mass appeal is something he’s looking for, which he probably isn’t.
