Whether it was a touch of glitter from Verdura’s ornate jewel displays or the frosted ears of a party-goer, there was glamour all around at the kick-off celebration of the upcoming New York Botanical Gardens’ Conservatory Ball. Guests mingled about the much-anticipated CHIHULY exhibition that opens on the night of the ball this Thursday. The kick-off event was hosted by Nico and Ward Landrigan of Verdura and gala chairmen Alexandra Lebenthal, Gillian Miniter, Deborah Goodrich Royce, and Catherine Marlette Waddell.
The Conservatory Ball, held on June 1 at 7:30 p.m., will showcase breathtaking artworks by world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly in his first major garden exhibition in New York in over 10 years. This year’s event will be held in partnership with Northern Trust Corporation. Additional support for the event has been provided by Verdura Belperron and Naeem Khan.
The evening will begin with cocktails at in the Perennial Garden and will carry on to dinner and dancing in the Conservatory Tent. The Conservatory Ball, which has consistently been listed among New York’s top benefits, is one of The New York Botanical Garden’s most important fundraising parties of the year. More than 600 guests (decked out in their finest) turn out for the event.
