Dame Vivienne Westwood is opening her first flagship boutique in New York this fall after more than 40 years in business. Vivienne Westwood already has a flagship in Los Angeles, which was opened in 2011, and one which opened in Honolulu in 2013. The new flagship in New York will be located on 14 East 55th Street, in a 15,000-square-foot prewar townhouse. The boutique will take up three floors of the six-story building, which will include the ready-to-wear lines Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, and MAN. The boutique will also carry the label’s accessory lines, bridal, and Gold Label Capsule collection. The latter, along with the bridal line, will be part of a salon that will fit demi-couture gowns. There will also be a selection of Worlds End pieces that are usually only available from the Worlds End boutique in London.
“New York is an important step for us as a company, so we had to find a location which best represents our brand,” said CEO Cristiano Minchio in a press statement. “As soon as we opened the Los Angeles flagship, we started looking at different areas in New York and found a great building with lots of history, which was once part of the St. Regis Hotel. I knew right away that it was perfect for us, with everything we need in terms of space, feel and location.” The new location will be the brand’s largest retail store to date. Besides a retail boutique, the top three floors of the new digs will be reserved for showrooms and offices for press and sales.

Incredibly irresponsible of you and WWD. This isn’t the brands first NYC flagship at all. They had one in SOHO just 15 years ago!
Actually you are both right. AHAH
15 years ago the boutique wasn’t own by the brand. It was a license given to a Japanese company. When the company went down they had to close it.
So yes there was a Westwood boutique before but this will be the first boutique that they will entirely control. the buyer and the staff will be 100% Westwood. 🙂 CAN T WAIT
