Kate Upton continues her reign as Kate Upton with an appearance on Jimmy Fallon last night. The Sports Illustrated covergirl talks about freezing her you-know-whats off in Antarctica on the shoot and hints that the next swimsuit issue could be shot in space. Bombshell! We like that Kate.
If you’re considering a stylish jaunt to Antarctica or say, Siberia, then look no further than MaxMara’s luxuriantly ultra-cozy collection, culling inspiration from Bauhaus aesthetics. In need of heavy duty coats? They’ve got you covered; this is MaxMara, after all. Layering and oversized outerwear were key, with huge furry coats worn over equally bulky fur and knee-length grandma-ish knit sweaters. Volume got amped up throughout the collection, namely in the shoulder and sleeve regions. Also in the toppers department: floor length, slouchy wool coats with rolled-up sleeves. Those outerwear options were shown over jackets atop dresses, the jackets’ collars peeping out from underneath. Palette-wise, the neutral spate including varying shades of camel, brown, and black. But color did find its way into this wildly wintry collection, via bright mustard yellows. The punchy shade took shape as a wide-legged trou, mingling with a shiny silk mock turtleneck dress and topped with a matching sunny-hued overcoat with exaggerated lapels. Thickly banded stripes got integrated into the array as well, consistent with that palette of neutrals and a touch of yellow. And the shoes? Each look traversed the runway in matching running sneakers. Comfortable and cozy don’t often go hand-in-hand with chic, but this collection managed materialize that wearable marriage.
