Manny Garcia: How a Boy from the Dominican Republic Established Himself as a Massively Successful Entrepreneur

by DN News Desk

Manny Garcia wears many hats. He co-founded several e-commerce brands with retail stores in the fashion industry, auto customization shops and dabbles in real estate. However, life wasn’t always a bed of roses for him and his family. This is the story of a man who went from being a nobody in the Dominican Republic to a massively successful entrepreneur in the US. Multi-tasking to become a multi-millionaire has been Manny’s core strength as an entrepreneur. For as long as he can remember, he had always been an entrepreneur which to him meant “living life on my terms.” He has always put himself and his ideas to work, he says, “I knew I was born for this because even in grade school I would buy candy and sell it to my peers to make money. My first business venture was when I was 14. I walked several miles to buy car washing supplies at a local Wal-Mart with a tiny budget then went door-to-door to wash cars for $5 each. I also started cutting grass with my uncle’s lawnmower. Eventually, I became the go-to guy for all kinds of work in my neighborhood.”

Manny urges his employees and those who see him as a mentor to “be patient, persistent and to take risks.” His humble beginnings can be traced back to when he was a trainee at Home Depot. He recalls, “I started my first business $1250 while working a 9 to 5 at Home Depot. I took a risk by opening my first auto-collision business without any knowledge of cars or the industry. The point is you have to take a chance to reap the rewards of being a successful business owner. I see it all too often that people are scared of making the first move. You can trust my word that it will be the biggest move of your life. Just start and don’t give up.”

Manny has come a long way. From a boy who barely spoke a word of English to a successful businessman, who’s built multiple multi-million-dollar business from scratch, he has proven that “hard work, persistence, and courage can turn things around no matter where you come from.” And with 2021 leaning heavily on the back-bent year that 2020 has been, Manny has been “working on a lot of new things – from several clothing brands to Forged wheel brand, Real estate Miami, NJ, Dominican Republic. More to come for 2021.” With stars in his eyes and the sky as his limit, Manny is ready for life’s successes and challenges.
