Zuhair Murad Couture Spring 2015

by Daniel Chivu

A frothy, exceedingly feminine vision for Spring, edged in luxe metallics,  Zuhair Murad‘s latest Couture creations were inspired by all thing aqueous. That showed most literally in the mid-collection series of mermaid-ish pale blue confections, and the palette erred on the dreamy side otherwise, rife with dove gray, nudes, buttercup yellow, blush pink, a light peach, soft silver, and crisp whites. The silhouettes were ethereal, often flatteringly accented by slim bejeweled belts (fitted bodices with swishing, full skirts; elegantly plunging Grecian gowns; empire waists; pretty touches like beaded sheer batwing sleeves and boatnecks), all of which were dripping in exquisite embellishments. Murad’s loyal clientele should have lots to pick from, and the rest of us have plenty to fantasize about. Couture mission accomplished, non?
