15 Standout Pieces From WGACA’s $1.7 Million Christie’s Auction

by Charles Manning

On September 18, vintage retailer What Comes Around Goes Around (WGACA) celebrated their 25th anniversary with a special auction at Christie’s in New York. The auction featured over 200 lots of ultra-rare designer pieces from Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and more, and brought in $1,659, 250 when all was said and done. Among the standout pieces on the block were a wicker Hermès Kelly bag from 2011 that brought in $47,500 and a tan tweed Chanel couture suit from the early 1960s, which sold for $10,000, blowing its paltry $700 pre-auction price estimate completely out of the water.
