(NEW YORK) Kellwood Co. is one step closer to transforming Vince into a global lifestyle brand with the appointment of Karin Gregersen today as brand president, effective May 13. Gregersen was most recently the managing director of Chloé/Richemont North America, overseeing both Chloé and See By Chloé in the U.S., Canada, and South America. Previously, she served as vice president of sales and marketing at Chloé and European sales manager at Givenchy Paris. She forayed into fashion at hosiery, lingerie, and ready-to-wear brand, Wolford Australia. At her new post, Gregersen will manage design, product development, marketing and sales, and merchandising for Vince. She will report to Kellwood and Vince CEO Jill Granoff.
Last month, Vince experienced a major shakeup when the cofounders—CEO Rea Laccone and president Christopher LaPolice—stepped down from the company they started in 2002, and later sold to Kellwood in 2006. Granoff subsequently resumed responsibilities and hired Doo-Ri Chung as creative director. Chung will now report to Gregersen, and her first full collection will be for Holiday 2013.
